Welcome to education and fitness! Time to have fun...
I am so excited to be back as a Haisley Husky! Please check your child's PE schedule so they are properly prepared for movement and physical activity! Loose clothing and tennis shoes that lace or velcro are most appropriate. Please wear leggings or shorts under skirts. Absolutely NO; heels, boots, Crocs, Keens or flip flops. This is for safety purposes and if students are not safely prepared, they may not participate.
My goal is to provide a quality Physical Education experience that is developmentally appropriate and provides a variety of activities that inspires independent physical activity, as well as, lifelong health and fitness.
I hope each of my students finds enjoyment in this class, as well as confidence in the basic skills he/she will need to participate in different physical activities. Another main focus is to guide students on how to care for their bodies and the impacts on their health related to fitness.

The Team ZonE
When our students come into they gym they are expected to act like a team and be great teammates to each other. We all discussed that a team;
Sometimes people may have conflict, even teammates, but it's important that we learn how to address conflict appropriately. In life there are 2 ways of handling conflict, you can 1) ignore it, or 2) try to resolve it. If the concern you are having with a teammate isn't a big enough deal to interrupt your learning/fitness (i.e.; who should be in line first), then you might want to choose to ignore the concern. But if it's reoccurring or a bigger concern, then our teammates are encouraged to handle the problem on their own in the Team Zone. Here are the rules for the Team Zone;
So far the Team Zone has worked wonders for our students and it's great to see them problem solving independently! They are often excited to have handled the issue on their own and are quick to brag about their solutions!
*You may find your student bringing home a Reflection Sheet to fill out. These are given after a student has had 1 warning and their behavior has not corrected OR if they could not work as a teammate to solve a problem in the Team Zone. I always stress that the Reflection Sheets are not "you were a bad kid" sheet. It is about reflecting on the behavior/problem and how next time he/she can improve and make better decisions.

- If you are called to the Team Zone you MUST go! You cannot say no.
- They cannot leave the Team Zone until the find a solution everyone can agree with.
- They must find a solution in approximately 3 min or Mrs. Garcia will have to solve their problem and they will need to reflect on the issue with a Refection Sheet*
